— This video is an expert interview on OD2A overdose prevention and recovery, hosted by Chinese Radio Seattle (CRS) on July 29, 2025. [Reported by CRS journalists: Chentao and Amber]
Dr. Tin shared information with reporters about opioid addiction and its prevention and treatment. Although the proportion of opioid overdose deaths among the Chinese population is relatively small, the long-standing cultural tradition in the Chinese community of avoiding discussion about such health issues may prevent community members facing these challenges from accessing effective health resources and assistance, which can lead to more severe problems. The radio station has specially compiled the interview transcript to help the public better understand opioid addiction—represented by drugs such as fentanyl and heroin—and to be able to assist those in need at critical moments.
