美国大选在即，华州选举进入冲刺阶段。第七届少数族裔媒体与候选人见面的活动于9月22日下午在中国城国际区举行，本次见面会将有33名华州今年11月大选的候选人、19名候选人工作人员、12名社区成员和33家媒体参加，包括正副州长的候选人以及各选区的议员候选人等。这是候选人在少数族裔媒体发声的最好机会，也是少数族裔媒体近距离接触华州未来领导人的机会。
除了美国总统的选举之外，华州本地官员的选举也令人瞩目，包括在Jay Inslee和Bill Bryant之间进行华州州长的竞选、在Cyrus Habib和Marty McClendon之间副州长的竞选，还有多个联邦议员的选举，包括在Adam Smith和Doug Basler之间的第九选区联邦众议员竞选，以及在施兆伟（Dan Shih）和Nicole Macri之间的华州第43选区众议员的竞选等。

今年是美国大选年，而9月27日为全国选民登记日，这是一个不分党派，也是非官方的全国节日，自从2012年以来，全国选民登记日都聚焦在让公民登记以便他们行使他们最基本的权力 — 投票权。为了庆祝今年的全国选民登记日，金县选举委员会和一批社区合作伙伴将在全县举办60多场选民登记的活动。金县选举委员会主任Julie Wise说“选举是我们参与社区的最基本的方式，但是你必须要首先登记。好消息是，现在有很多组织和义工会在这里活动中帮助你”。通过邮寄方式登记的截止日期是10月10日，而新选民个人登记的截止日期是10月31日。
