华盛顿州多个县(郡)2020人口普查自我回覆率已经超过上次普查的自我回覆率
截至6月14日, 华盛顿州多个县(郡)的2020年人口普查自我回覆率超过2010年的人口普查自我回覆率。前几名的县(郡)分别是Clark county(2020年71% vs. 2010年69.5%), King county (2020年70.7% vs. 2010年70.3%), Snohomish(2020年70.1% vs. 2010年69.7%), Thurston(2020年69.8% vs. 2010年68.1%), Whatcom(2020年68.3% vs. 2010年67.6%), 而华盛顿州全州的2020人口普查回覆率是66.8%, 全美排名第六。

截至6月14日目前全美已经有61.4%,也就是超过9000多万住户完成人口普查的自我回答(self-response) .人口普查自我回覆率最高的前几个州包括:

- 威斯康辛州(68.4%)
- 爱荷华州和密西根州(67.7%)
- 内布拉斯加州(67.6%)
- 华盛顿州(66.8%)

根据西雅图市政府邻里部人口普查策略顾问Elsa Batres-Boni提供的数据,到目前为止,人口普查的参与率(回覆率):
- 全美国 : 61.4 %
- 华盛顿州: 66.8%
- 金县: 70.7%
- 西雅图市:70.7%
- 西雅图参与率最低的四个地区: 中国城国际区(China Town/ID):49% * 中区(Central District): 54% * 第一山(Frist Hill):55% ,南西雅图(South Seattle):57%
中国城的华人参与率低,可能有以下原因:1)对所有政府活动参与率都低;2)有华人担心人口普查数据会被用以“亚裔细分”等政治目的,尽管人口普查官员已经澄清,普查数据只用于按照人口分配政府资金以及确定议员人数,不用以其他目的;3)因为文化程度、生活习惯等,不熟悉上网填写人口普查流程等。
根据美国宪法的要求,十年一次的人口普查必须计算居住在美国的每个人。人口普查数据是我们民主政府体制的基础,可确保每个州的国会代表席次平均分配。人口普查结果决定了社区的未来,人口普查数据表明了未来十年如何将数十亿美元的联邦资金分配给医疗诊所,学校午餐计划,灾难恢复计划以及其他重要计划和服务。
完成2020人口普查非常简单有三种方式: 1.上网my2020census.gov, 点选网页右上方的地球标示,可以选择回答中文问卷; 2.打电话:普通话专线1-844-391-2020 ; 广东话专线1-844-398-2020,开放时间是周一到周五美西时间5am-7pm。

The Census Bureau will begin a soft launch to Nonresponse Follow-up.
Starting in mid-July, six area census offices ACOs will begin the operation of interviewing households that have yet to respond to the 2020 Census Additional ACOs will be announced for a second wave soft launch to occur later in July. Aside from ACOs that are part of the soft launch, all remaining ACOs will begin the Nonresponse Follow-up on August 11 and conclude no later than October 31.
The Census Bureau will count people living in transitory locations in September.
Between September 3 and September 28, census takers will count people staying at campgrounds, RV parks, marinas and hotels if they do not usually live elsewhere. This operation, known as Enumeration of Transitory Locations, was previously scheduled to occur between April 9 and May 4

- Pierce County has developed new social media materials to push the phone numbers as methods for filling out the census. They focus on the top 10 languages in the county. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
- Curbside Meals in Kenmore Next Week: Sponsored by United Way of King County, a variety of local restaurants in Kenmore will provide free meals on a first come first serve basis to community members from June 15-18. Center for Human Services volunteers will be on site to provide information and assistance for completing the 2020 Census. Please share the attached flier.
- The City of Renton announced the winners of the Student Art Contest wherein students were asked to use art to explain why the 2020 Census is important to their communities. The winners can be found in the attached document, and honorable mentions can be found here.
- Faith Action Network, Northwest Harvest, United Way of King County and Washington Nonprofits have teamed up to design and produce grocery bags to help distribute food and remind people that filling out the census will help keep those bags filled
- This week will also is a Congressional Census Week of Action, a moment of engagement on the 2020 Census spread across the week. The goal is the activate AAPI, Black, LatinX, Native American communities on various days to participate in the census (see attached flier).
- Wednesday, June 17 will be a general day of action from the Census Counts campaign on the theme of Our Power, Our Census. See this Ways to Engage document to help think through how to participate.
- As part of this day of action, Census Counts will share its Twitterchat toolkit including #AAPI2020 Coalition, National Congress of American Indians, and National Urban Indian Family Coalition .
